Other Legal Services

We are delighted to offer the following legal services to clients and other solicitor’s practices:

Lasting Power of Attorney Certificate Provision

Part of the process for completing a Lasting Power of Attorney includes undergoing an assessment of your capacity in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2006. This means that an authorised person must meet with you and provide you with a certificate (which will form part of the Lasting Power of Attorney document) stating that you understand what you are doing and that you are not being put under undue pressure to create the power.

Such a certificate should, ideally, be provided by a solicitor, healthcare professional or social worker.

We are delighted to offer a service for the provision of your Lasting Power of Attorney certificate. We will be happy to meet with you at your home or work (dependent upon location) or our offices.

Often, you will be appointing your own solicitor to act as your Attorney. In these cases your own solicitor cannot provide the certificate for you. As such, we may be called in by your own solicitor to carry out the relevant assessment and certificate provision. In these cases, we will be happy to meet with you and your solicitor at their offices (dependent upon location).

This service usually costs between £100.00 and £200.00 plus VAT but this will depend upon where we meet with you.

Deed and Will Storage

We are delighted to offer a deed and will storage solution, including a free will review. If you need assistance with making a will or would like any further information on this, please contact us.

Provision of Certified Copies of Documents

When making certain applications and when you do not wish to send an original document by post, you may require a solicitor’s certified copy of your documents. We charge just £5.00 plus VAT (per document) for providing certified copies of documents which consist of 5 pages or less. Please contact to obtain a quotation for the provision of certified copies of larger documents.

Please note that for documents to be used abroad you may require the services of a Notary. We do not provide notarial services at present but will be happy to recommend a local Notary to you.

ID Checks

These days you need to verify your identity in accordance with Money Laundering Regulations in many situations, including for your solicitors, accountants, your bank and the Land Registry (by completing form ID1). We often act for clients who live too far away from our office to meet with us and comply with the Regulations. We are happy for our clients to visit a solicitor more local to them to verify their identity.

We are also happy to provide an identity verification service – we will just need to meet with you and check your:

  • Original current UK passport/photocard driving licence; and
  • A utility bill/bank statement which is less than 4 months old and shows your current address.

We will then write to your own solicitor/bank/accountant sending them appropriately marked copies of your ID and confirming compliance with the Money Laundering Regulations.

Please contact us to discuss costs.

Deed Poll

A Deed Poll document is a formal declaration/statement of a change of name. If undertaken correctly, this can be relied upon by your bank, building society, DVLA, medial institutions, passport office etc to change your name on your accounts and other documentation.

We would be happy to arrange your Deed Poll if you are a British Citizen and aged over 16.
